Introduction: Paddan Sightseeing has been operating sightseeing tours aboard our so-called "Paddan boats" navigating the beautiful canals and harbor of Gothenburg since 1939. Paddan is one of about 30 brands within the Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB group, one of Scandinavia's largest experience companies with a strong historic connection to Swedish tourism. Responsibilities: For the 2026 season, we are seeking reliable and committed captains who can safely and comfortably navigate our Paddan boats through the city’s canals and harbor and help provide world-class experiences and lifelong memories for our guests. As a captain of our passenger vessels in both line and charter traffic, you will not only operate and maneuver the vessel securely but also lead your crew and work according to the company’s ISM code. Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English and high social competence are required, as you will be the company’s representative toward guests and visitors. Personal qualities will be decisive in the appointment. Qualifications: You must hold a Class 8 deck officer certificate and an engine officer certificate, have an SRC radio certificate, a valid seafarer medical certificate, and fluent English skills in speaking and writing. Experience with water jet propulsion, vessel maintenance, tourism or service industries, knowledge of a third language beyond Swedish and English, growing up around boats, and flexibility for full-time or part-time work in spring and autumn are advantageous.
